EXPERIENCE OF HIGH ON BETA BLOCKERS
"I am so disappointed that it actually did not solve all my problems."
Yes, it would appear, Barbara, that you'll have to handle feelings of discomfort in the old fashioned way, as no miracle cure or sudden solution is likely to come to the rescue. No rescue will happen...
TRANK PLAN 2/17
In relationship to a recent emotional crash, Barbara went on a "drunk", including eating some bagels, which cause blood sugar problems. I gave myself license to slum this week, on tranks and ambien and bagels. I guess I have to make some adjustments. It's a process of waking myself.
And then we discussed the need to draw an absolute personal boundary, as it tends to escalate like an alcoholic, giving herself permission.
The need to break this and get back to sleeping without them and no longer using them during the day must consider a probable anxiety rebound, so she says she needs to be gradual on reducing the doses.
"My biggest concern is sleep at night."
She accordingly committed to the following:
To adjust her sleep schedule to follow the protocol of having a set regular bed and wake up time:
Go to bed tonight at 3, next 2 am, then 1 am, then 12, and then 11.
I will start getting ready, winding down for bed at 10, go to bed at 11 and get up at 6, eventually aiming for 5:30.
Tranks: Coming off 1.5 mg at night and 1 during day
Night time 1mg for 2, 3/4 for 3, 1/2 for 3, 1/4 for 3
Day time: 3/4 for 2 days, 1/2 for 3, 1/4 for 3
