EVERYBODY CAN AND SHOULD TAKE THIS PATH
Don't be concerned about whether you can do this. You can, if you have normal intelligence. You have all the equipment needed to do this. Obviously, you'll have to pick up some knowledge and develop some skills along the way.
Even if you never reach the goal, you'll have been better off for having developed in that direction.
If you respond to life haphazardly by adjusting your behavior and deciding you will be along the way, the randomness of life will determine who the constructed you is.
SELF-DETERMINE THE YOU
Have no doubt, you are always constructing some you anyway, but is it the you that you would choose to construct if you stood back and looked and decided deliberately?
We want to develop certainty and this is one of the best ways. If I'm uncertain about who I am, or my values, or how I shall behave, then I cannot be living in uncertainty. I'm having to decided each time who I'll be, what I'll do - and that takes alot of effort. If who I"ll be and what I'll do is already decided and automatic, then I have a huge amount of freedome and a huge amount of energy and brainpower freed up to create more of what I want.
I, for one, do not want to return to my occasional periods of being a gradually boiling frog. (a frog jumps out of a boiling pot, but he'll lie there in tepid water gradually getting hotter until he boils to death). I, instead of being acting upon by the forces of life, want to be deliberate about life and create what I truly want.
WILL THIS BE ALL I WANT?
Will I get it all? Certainly not. Will I get more of what I want? Certainly I will. Will I always have enough? Certainly - and I will have more bonuses....but never "not enough". There will be no lasting disappointments, no real regrets.
OK, NOW WHAT DO I DO?
You write out the following in detail (following the format, to make it easier)
This is the life I will live.,
This is who I will be.
This is how I will be (how I'll behave, what I'll do)
WHAT LEVEL OF SPECIFICS?
But I can't anticipate every detail and have every little thing planned. You won't have to. You'll have the basics down and then you can decide how to adjust in the particular situation. Your mind will be freed up from the big overall decision, so you'll have more mindpower and it'll be more reliable mindpower because there will not be the draining confusion of what to do overall.
WHAT'S THE REASONING BEHIND HOW THIS WORKS?
Like a football player, decide what eh basics are to be learned and be convinced that those are the right ones (the coach helps there) then you learn and drill the basics, until they are automatic and then you can adjust to the situation, using those abilities that are automatic, knowing that they will be there for you, as you zig zag down the field straight arming the one in your way...

If you decide to be a certain way
But I won't have time to do all of this. It takes more time to do it randomly, haphazardly, and you won't have to offset so many repeated errors.. deliberately saves alot of time and you don't have to do so many corrections
Also, you can't imagie the positive impact this has on your psychological health. You won't be caught in uncertainty, so your alarm system will not be so reactive, as you'll not be practicing being in fear. And let's be clear: uncertainty thoughts will trigger fear, fear of not knowing waht to do and the consequences one might suffer and so on. .
THE OPPOSITE OF THE MYSTERIOUS FORCES MYTH
Over and over you'll hear about how some mysterious force took the other person over so that he could not do what he really wanted. Of course, they don't call it a "mysterious force" that just took them over. It's more of "I couldn't help it. I had a craving for chocolate." Oh, I understand, you poor thing. We are just helpless in light of that powerful force. We are truly helpless and victimized by that as mere mortals....
THE DOINGS
Set up a place to put the following, such as a notebook, where you can access it easily and reliably to work on periodically. Call the notebook "Deliberate Creation" or include it in your "LifePLan" notebook.

AN EXAMPLE OF "HOW I'D BE" WRITE-UP
I noticed how on the political channels they will often argue and talk over each other. However, I would patiently listen and wait my turn. And maybe I would never be heard. But, on the other hand, how effective would I have been in the talk-over-the-other-person battle?
"Yes, I can respect your opinion on that. However, I have come to a different conclusion that I would like to be heard out on. Is that agreeable? Per my analysis and understanding of this I have come to the conclusion that.... "
