HOW MUCH TIME DO I HAVE?
A PERSPECTIVE ON TIME
tba draft
I'll start this at age 20, though starting it in teenage years and/or having training as a younger child will advance things considerably. I assume you will work til 65, though if you follow the program you will not have to work for money til then, unless you choose to have lots of extra time before age 65.
A normal work year, adjusted for vacations, is 2,000 hours. Notice how many "work years" we have in our leisure and fulfillment activities in our 4.5 decades until we retire.
PER DECADE (Take a 0 off to get a year)
Total hours (after deducting 8 hours for sleep) 58,400
Maintenance activities 2 hrs/day 7,300
Work (45/wk less 2 weeks off) 22,500
Commute (5 hrs/workweek) 2,500
Socializing, key relationships (8 hrs/week) 4,160
Other leisure (16 hrs/week) 8,320
Total used 44,780
Left over 13,620
Grounding, exercise for the day (1 hr/day) 3,650
Education in key skills and life management (1 hr/day average) 3,650
Long term planning, plotting, etc. 1,000 Directed high development and core strength time 8,300
Left for naps, tv, and high payoff choices = 2.5 work years) 5,320
34 "free" hours/week! After improvement, personal care, and planning!
Notice that the assumptions include 24 hours/week of socializing and key relationships plus other leisure. Plus there is an average of 10 hours left for naps, tv, and/or high payoff choices. That's 34+ hours per week. Isn't that plenty of time??? About 5 hours average per day! And that's after taking care of yourself and doing what's right for having a better life.
WHAT DO THE DAYS LOOK LIKE?
Maintenance activities 2 hrs/day - Eating, exercise, getting ready
The secret is to restore "high functioning balance" before normally low functioning times - and you'll feel better plus "creating" lots of well-used time to create what you want in life.
8 hours/week of naps and breaks keeps you sharp and has the day be more enjoyable and low stress.
Grounding has you be strong for the day, which lowers stress and increases productivity.
Learning has you increase your power, which should also lower the number of hours worked to get the necessary money to live on.
Strategies for reducing work and commute hours include reducing the commute.
